IDC and AFD strengthen mutual partnership in knowledge exchange seminar

A high-level seminar between the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) strengthened the existing co-operation between the two institutions and expanded their scope of work. The seminar – held in May at IDC headquarters – comprised of different sessions of knowledge exchange on women empowerment and entrepreneurship; high level strategies; employment creation; climate initiatives; and financial inclusions; amongst others.

The seminar concluded with a roadmap for future actions and a signed statement of conclusion. The roadmap elaborations followed deliberations in two separate sessions on various development knowledge-sharing and presentations on indirect equity funds; risk-sharing; SMEs and financial inclusion; agriculture and orchard financing; and water efficiency. The knowledge-exchange seminar was a continuation of an existing partnership between the two institutions, after they signed the SUNREF 2 credit agreement in 2016.
